During the summer of 1997 we started to design a motorcycle trailer to take the luggage and equipment that long-distance touring often requires. Having seen first-hand the resulting aesthetic results of some designs, our goal was to design a trailer that would blend into the overall lines of a motorcycle. Other criterias were aerodynamics and safety - always a concern when pulling a trailer.

We thought that the wheels should be large enough and safe so that passing isn't a challenge - even in the rain. As a result, we selected 13" wheels which is a size used by many cars, but you can also use safely 14" wheels.

Peak Trailers incorporate an independant shock system to keep both wheels tightly on the ground and eliminate the bouncing effect seen in many leaf-sprung trailers - something quite dramatic at high speeds!
