During the summer of 1997 we started to design a motorcycle trailer to take the luggage and equipment that long-distance touring often requires. Having seen first-hand the resulting aesthetic results of some designs, our goal was to design a trailer that would blend into the overall lines of a motorcycle. Other criterias were aerodynamics and safety – always a concern when pulling a trailer.
We thought that the wheels should be large enough and safe so that passing isn’t a challenge – even in the rain. As a result, we selected 13″ wheels, which are a size used by many cars.
Peak Trailers incorporate an independant shock system to keep both wheels tightly on the ground and eliminate the bouncing effect seen in many leaf-sprung trailers – something quite dramatic at high speeds!
We think you’ll find our design fits perfectly to all current touring bike models and styles!
